NDIS Community Participation

Day Activities With Gleam Support Services

Social and community participation is about being involved in the things that are important to you. It’s about feeling connected to your community and having a sense of belonging. For some people, social and community participation might mean going to the shops, attending a support group or volunteering. For others, it might mean going on holiday, joining a sports team, or attending a dance class. Whatever it looks like for you, Gleam Support Services can assist you in participating in the community and achieving your goals.

We offer a range of social, recreational and learning opportunities that promote inclusion, independence and community participation. Some of the activities we offer include:

Using technology (i.e. video games, social media)

Activities can be delivered one-on-one, in small groups or in a larger community setting, depending on the preferences of our participants. We also offer a range of day programs for those who are interested.

NDIS Community Access Funding

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for various supports that can assist people with disabilities in participating in their community. This includes funding for community access activities, as well as support workers to assist you in participating in the community. If you are NDIS-eligible, our team can work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs and goals.

Your NDIS plan is designed to help you achieve your goals. It outlines the supports you are eligible for and the budget allocated to each support. If you have a community access goal, your plan may include funding for community access activities, support workers and SIL accommodation.
