Frequently Asked Questions

We do our best to make sure our services are as affordable as possible, but what you pay will depend on the specific services you need and whether you’re eligible for government funding through NDIS. If you’re not sure whether you qualify for assistance, please speak to a member of our team. We’re also happy to discuss payment plan options with you.

Our services are for anyone, regardless of age or background. We believe that everyone should have access to the same resources and opportunities, and we’re committed to helping you find the support you need. Contact us today to discuss support options for yourself or a loved one.

NDIS funding covers a range of services and equipment to help you live a healthy and happy life. For example, NDIS will fund transport to get you to and from places you need to go, such as your medical appointments. It will also fund day-to-day activities like cooking and cleaning, as well as administrative support to help you manage your NDIS arrangements.

Furthermore, you can access social and economic benefits through your plan, including education, employment training and recreation activities. Finally, you can use your NDIS funding for living arrangements that suit your needs, including modifications to your home. Many of our support options, including respite care, can be funded through NDIS schemes as well.

NDIS is available to Australians aged 7 to 65 who have permanent and significant disabilities. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and you must live in Australia. You can apply if your disability was caused by a permanent impairment and results in significant restrictions in terms of your ability to perform basic daily activities. If you need extra support to lead a fulfilling life, NDIS can provide it.

Yes, we offer support with personal development. At Gleam Support Services, we place particular emphasis on social inclusion, independence and learning new skills. Our support services are tailored to each individual’s needs and our staff members are trained to understand the specific challenges that people with disabilities might face. Ultimately, we’re committed to helping you reach your goals.

We can help you with any or all tasks around your home. We can provide support with everything from cooking, cleaning, shopping and gardening to looking after your pets and children. We will even teach you new skills so that you can be more independent and show you how you and your family can adapt household tasks so you can complete them on your own. We want our clients to feel confident living independently, which is why NDIS funding also covers our domestic services.

Unfortunately, there are some things not covered by NDIS, and these tend to be services or activities that aren’t directly related to a person’s disability. This includes day-to-day living costs that everyone has to pay, such as food, rent, utilities and the general cost of owning a home.

Support also won’t be provided for activities that aren’t impacted by the participant’s disability. What’s more, services that could cause harm to the participant (e.g., a dangerous sporting activity) will not be funded by NDIS because these aren’t considered to contribute to the participant’s well-being.
